World Bee Day 2024. DOW are celebrating World Bee Day 2024, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of bees

Today, we’re celebrating a significant event – World Bee Day 2024, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of bees in our ecosystem!

Did you know that bees and many Bee species are in decline? Bees play a vital role in food pollination. One out of every three bites of food we consume depends on bees, a staggering statistic that underscores the urgency of their conservation.

Bees are vital, and we must help them thrive and survive. So, what can we do to help?

1. Instead of mowing your lawn, you could grow wildflowers and specific flowers that attract bees.

2. Instead of using weedkiller, you could let those dandelions grow—they’re the first food to flourish for Bees in springtime and a vital food source.

3. You can avoid using harmful pesticides in your garden or property.

4. Have fun and learn. Construct Bee and bug hotels in your garden, and you’ll be entertained for free for a whole summer.

5. Help a tired Bee. If you find a Bee in distress, offer a little heat (from your hand or by carefully placing the Bee in sunlight) and sugar water to help her recharge and get on her way.

Bees are such valuable creatures, and they deserve our help.
